Designation stamps are standardized components for the area of product identification in mould construction. They allow product traceability and identification of many production conditions such as:
Opitz GmbH developed a designation stamp named Dati that has set standards in the area of standard designation components for 30 years. Using Dati is easy: It is inserted into the mould and can be set with a conventional screwdriver, allowing the production date to be changed at the beginning of a new month, for example. There are a wide variety of Datis, differing in area of application, length, diameter, mounting, and type of designation (such as month and year of manufacture, week of manufacture, etc.):
Electrodes allow identification of a product directly in the tool, without fitting an additional module, such as the dati. The positive image is found on the electrode. The designation of the tool takes place by erosion, with the electrode providing the image which is then applied in the tool as a negative by the erosion process.
